For Spills & Stains (Spot Cleaning)
Important: Do not soak the rug or put it in a washing machine.
-
Act quickly! Blot the spill immediately with a clean, dry cloth to soak up excess liquid.
-
Avoid scrubbing or rubbing — this can cause yarn to fall out or spread the stain further.
-
Mix a small amount of gentle soap (like mild dish soap) with lukewarm water and dampen a clean cloth.
-
Gently dab the stained area with the damp cloth, then blot with a dry cloth.
-
Let the rug air dry flat.
If you notice any curling after drying, place a couple of books on the curled areas overnight to help flatten it.
For Crumbs, Dirt & General Refreshing
My suggested routine for everyday maintenance:
-
Use a lint roller on any rug (floor, wall, desk) to pick up pet hair and debris.
If you find your rug pile getting flat with use over time:
- For floor rugs, vacuum gently using a low suction setting without the spinning brush to remove dust and dirt.
The spinning brush can damage the rug and pull the yarn fibres out.
These rugs are not meant as shower mats or for outdoor use.
Important Usage Notes
-
These rugs are designed for indoor decorative use only and are not suited for high-traffic areas or bathrooms. Avoid placing rugs in busy spots such as entryways or hallways to prolong their life.
-
Please avoid exposing your rug to direct heat sources (such as heaters or irons), as acrylic yarn can melt or become damaged.
-
Shedding and loose threads are normal for hand-tufted rugs. If you notice loose threads, carefully trim them with scissors—never pull, as this can damage the rug.
-
Spot cleaning as described above is preferred; do not soak or machine wash.
